Hi
The kibbutz was festooned with flags, on houses, on public buildings,
kindergartens and even on each "kalnoit"
(golf buggies of veteran members). Everything was set for the community
gathering on the lawn to the north of the dining room building.
At eight in the evening the entire community assembled to take part in the
independence celebration. They were not disappointed - the evening was
organized by the new members of Matzuva and the younger generation.
Anyone viewing Max's slide show can sense the feeling of community and renewal.
What stands out is the numbers of young couples and children.
As mentioned, the event was organized by new members and some who have rented
houses on the kibbutz prior to building their homes at Nofey
Matzuva (the Matzuva community village).
The evening began with members who this year all celebrated their 60th
birthdays (born the year the State of Israel was created). They lit torches and
spoke briefly about themselves and their attachment to Matzuva and
In all a very enjoyable community celebration.
Regards to all
Baruch
